Executive Management
The Inovis management team is made up of a diverse group of industry veterans and experts who are dedicated to leveraging their B2B experience to benefit your company and your business trading partner community.
Sean Feeney, President and Chief Executive Officer
The way I see it, my job is to make sure everyone else at Inovis can do their job as effectively and efficiently as possible. My personal motto, which I've shared with the folks here, is "Think. Decide. Act." (And if things go well, it usually happens in that order.) I sometimes have to step in and make some tough decisions, but I've found that when you give people the tools they need to be successful, they will step up to the plate.
Prior to joining Inovis, I served in several roles during my tenure at CheckFree Corporation, including executive vice president; president of CheckFree Software; general manager of American Payment Systems; and executive vice president of sales. Between 2000 and 2002, I served as chief operating officer of Clarus Corporation, an Atlanta-based e-procurement software company, and OneSource Relocation.
However, I would have to say it was my experience in college as a basketball and hockey play-by-play guy that really helped me learn how to think on my feet. And my Army background comes in particularly handy in terms of getting people motivated to achieve. Once you've motivated 150 cold, wet and tired soldiers at 3:00 am in a snowstorm about their next objective, motivating employees at a tech company seems easy in comparison. When asked if being a CEO goes to my head, I can confidently respond that my two college-age daughters manage to keep me humble on almost a daily basis.
The best way to get me talking is to bring up the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, Duke basketball or Army and Notre Dame football. The best way to reach me is via email at sean.feeney@inovis.com. I haven't gotten into instant messaging yet, but I carry my BlackBerry 24/7.
Stephen Cochran, Chief Technology Officer
I'm fortunate in that I love what I do. I oversee concept, architecture, development and operations across our software and services lines of business, making sure that our solutions provide the functionality and robustness our customers require to conduct business. I'm also responsible for the security and sanctity of our IT infrastructure. In a nutshell, I make sure everything is running smoothly from a technology standpoint, both inside and out.
I have experience managing and growing all aspects of operations at software companies in both entrepreneurial and Fortune 500 settings. Prior to Inovis I was with Adaptec, where I oversaw the company's core business line as division vice president, storage solutions, marketing and business development. In this role, I directed sales, marketing and product strategy for the company's data storage and protection products, accounting for $350 million in company revenues.
Earlier in my career, I held system engineering, operations and program management positions at General Electric Company and Lockheed Martin. In these capacities I led design engineering, product development and testing activities related to missile defense systems. And not to date myself, but in the mid-90s I worked for a graphics card company, and led development of a computer chip that performed 3-D calculations and graphics modeling-that was very new and exciting at the time, but my youngest son takes the technology for granted today.
As Inovis' resident technology "gadget guy," my foray into technology literally took off when, as a kid, I knocked myself backwards across a room while taking apart my dad's television to see how it worked. Show me the latest technology and you'll have my attention. You can reach me at steve.cochran@inovis.com.
James "Jim" Eberle, Chief Operating Officer
I oversee the "revenue engine" for Inovis. This includes operations, product and technology, implementations and customer support. I'm the one held responsible for driving peak performance across Inovis' infrastructure. From the availability of our network to customer support responsiveness, my team and I work to ensure that Inovis consistently delivers the quality and efficiency our customers expect. My principal obsession is to ensure that the component parts of Inovis work well together in a predictive, reliable manner with the goal of continuous improvement in all our processes.
Most recently, I was CEO and co-founder of Mentora, which helps companies test, deliver, host and maintain high-quality, high availability and high performance business applications. Prior to Mentora, I held senior management positions at AppGenesys, Dun & Bradstreet and Control Data Corporation. At each of those organizations, I established a track record for driving improved performance across all business units and establishing quality and consistency in the delivery of service.
As head of my alumni charitable group (West Point Charitable Enterprises of Atlanta), I remain actively engaged in junior leadership development by helping to raise money and sponsor youth development activities throughout the metropolitan area. My other interests outside of work center around digital photography, dogs, cooking, reading and following my two favorite professional sports teams from the NY area—the NY Yankees and the NY Giants. Within this gruff exterior hides a fun-loving professional who enjoys helping people make the most out of life. I have a sign in my office at home that reads, "Lord help me to be the person my dog thinks I am." You can reach me at jim.eberle@inovis.com.
Hatem El-Sebaaly, Chief Software Architect
I play a central role in driving the strategy and direction relative to product and services technology, architecture and infrastructure.
My experience spans over 15 years in the technology sector with significant experience in a wide range of hardware, operating systems, programming languages and development environments. Most recently I was chief technology officer of IPNet Solutions, which was acquired by Inovis in July 2003, where I focused on business-to-business and collaborative commerce technologies. In this role, I was instrumental in defining and overseeing the technology and architectural plans for the BizManager suite of products.
Prior to joining IPNet, I headed my own software consulting firm, Wondersoft Corporation, where I provided long-term consulting services for Wonderware Corporation and Toshiba. I have also worked for several software firms, including SAP, Toshiba America Medical Systems and GE Medical Systems.
John McCracken, Senior Vice President, Sales
I lead the company's worldwide sales organization with a continued focus on driving new business in new and existing vertical markets. I bring with me an 18-year track record of success across a number of senior sales management roles for several leading technology firms.
Before coming to Inovis, I was the vice president of sales for the Americas at Mercury Interactive. For over six years, my focus was on strategic product solutions in the areas of Application Management, IT Governance and ITIL. Prior to my time at Mercury, I was the regional vice president of sales at CheckFree Corporation. I have also held executive management positions at American Express, Warrantech and PC ServiceSource.
I am a die-hard college football fan and bleed orange for the 2005 NCAA Football National Champs, the University of Texas Longhorns. When I have extra time and I am not traveling, my favorite thing to do is coach my kids in sports. I coach my 8-year-old son in football and baseball and on occasion, try to teach my 10-year-old daughter a few things about soccer (she is not a big fan of my coaching advice). My hobby is reading and responding to company email. I do my best to respond to every email I receive. See for yourself. Send me an email at john.mccracken@inovis.com.
Vicki Sewell, Senior Vice President, Client Services and Customer Support
I lead the company's efforts in the support, implementation and enablement of new and existing customers. So if something isn't going right in any of those areas, I'm the person to track down.
Before coming to Inovis, I served as a vice president of operations at ICM Corporation, a leading mobile integrator of software and hardware solutions, where I was responsible for day-to-day operational management of product delivery and support services. Prior to ICM, I was vice president of Worldwide Support Services for Primus Knowledge Solutions, a global leader in knowledge management solutions. At Primus, I was responsible for Worldwide Professional Services, which included software implementation, integration and technical support departments. Before joining Primus, I served as vice president of services for Sales Technologies, a Dun & Bradstreet company.
Although I bring more than 20 years of professional services and customer support management experience in the software and services industry, I've definitely walked outside the lines of a traditional professional path. As a double art major, security guard, hospital cook, plastic bag catcher (yes, there was such a thing), inner-city art teacher and now software exec, some would call me eclectic with a smile. Need assistance with your implementation, or just curious what a plastic bag catcher is? Send me an email at vicki.sewell@inovis.com.
Paul Trotti, Vice President, Human Resources
My job is all about the people who make Inovis the leading B2B technology company it is today. My role is to nurture, retain and reward those employees, so they can keep doing what they do best. I do that by overseeing and managing employee performance development programs, comprehensive benefits and, probably most important to some, a fair compensation plan. I also play an active part in recruiting and hiring Inovis employees, making sure the people we bring in will contribute to an ongoing culture that supports Inovis' core values.
Prior to Inovis, I was the vice president of human resources at the Winter Group of Companies in Atlanta, Georgia, where I was a member of the executive team that reorganized the companies. My tenure at Winter followed a rewarding career in the US Army, from which I retired as a colonel in 1998. My military service included infantry command and staff assignments in Germany, the Republic of Korea, Panama, the Middle East and various posts in the United States. Additionally, I spent a tour teaching at my alma mater, the United States Military Academy at West Point.
My vision is to develop every manager at Inovis to be a leader. I am convinced that we would be even more successful if we ran this organization like the Army. For some reason, however, Sean won't let me introduce mandatory physical training at 6:00 am. Interested in a future at Inovis? Contact me at paul.trotti@inovis.com and tell me what you can bring to the organization.
Kenneth Williams, Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President
I am responsible for managing the financial and related operational structure of the company along with running the company's M&A practice. During my time at Inovis, I successfully restructured Inovis' financial operations and health, resulting in nearly a 300% improvement in the company's EBITDA margin over three years. I also played a key role in the acquisition and integration of IPNet and QRS, both of which contributed significantly to our product portfolio with leading B2B communication and data synchronization solutions, respectively.
Prior to Inovis, working on behalf of Noro-Mosely Partners, I served as the interim CFO and M&A lead for Sarcon Microsystems and DigitalOwl.com. I also served as the interim CFO and sell-side lead for CarrierPoint, resulting in a favorable disposition of the company. Prior roles include serving as vice president of Finance for Ockham Technologies, CFO of MeasureUp, which sold for 60x the initial investment, and a senior analyst at KPMG. My responsibilities have spanned both accounting and financial planning and analysis. I also have extensive experience guiding organizations through fundraising, acquisition, contract negotiation and management and liquidation activities. I hold a registered and active CPA license issued by the state of Georgia.
I am a proud graduate of the University of Georgia, twice over. I would consider myself a devout Georgia Bulldawg fan and attend the vast majority of the home games along with making the annual pilgrimage to Jacksonville, Florida. It is my goal to retire in Italy and teach at a local university there, and I am always looking for great real estate deals in the Toscana and Veneto regions. Above all, I want to make sure that all of our customers have their financial needs attended to in an expedient manner. Thus, please feel free to contact me ken.williams@inovis.com if I can be of any assistance.
