Tami Morrison-Reuben - Vice President, Information Services Enterprise Operations

On occasion, I have an opportunity to speak at Career days. One of the questions that I am frequently asked is, "Did you know that this is what you wanted to do when you went to college?" Absolutely NO WAY! I majored in Communications: PR and TV Production. I was lucky that I had an electric typewriter—an IBM "Selectric" I might add—in a pretty blue color, and I was one of 10 girls in my Sorority that had one. Personal computers and the Internet were the wave of the future and now look at us.

My journey in the job world has taken me from Radio to Beverage Distribution, Managing Wireless Cable systems, ISP and Web Hosting environments, to the best opportunity I could every hope f...managing Enterprise IT at Inovis. We actually refer to ourselves as Information Services (IS) since our department includes all the internal functions that make Inovis run. Workstations, Exchange, Customer Management Systems (Siebel), Billing, Telecomm, Vendor management and Contracts are just a few of our many responsibilities. Oh, need I forget our Website, Customer Portals, and the VERY important SharePoint which we are so dependent on. The list continues but is not limited to: ESS, Expense Express, and Documentation—both internally and for our product set. We track everything and log it in file systems. We’re responsible. If it breaks, we’re accountable. If it helps you do your job, it most likely falls in IS Enterprise Operations.

I work with an incredible group of very bright, intelligent, and hard driving individuals. They are driven to do their best, and then strive to make it better, faster, more efficient, and are always upgrading technology. While they want the latest and greatest "techie – toys," they’re smart enough to know that they are the ones that have to support them, so they’d better choose wisely. I get new ideas from my team constantly and they know that we will never be on the bleeding edge of technology. We test many new ideas behind closed doors. Some work, some don’t, and we roll with the ones that assist us with a solid foundation to enable our associates, and in some cases, our customers.

Aside from the fact that Inovis has a leading product set, I come to work each day because I work with wonderful people that lead, guide, give clear direction, a sense of urgency, accountability and the satisfaction that we all make a difference.
