Into the Cloud: Dell Reboots B2B Integration with Inovis
Challenge: Dell was quickly expanding their trading partner connections with global manufacturers (ODMs) and retailers, but the scope of the project outstripped internal resources. Dell was faced with quickly integrating thousands of partners, more than 300 transaction types with a limited staff and three legacy B2B platforms.
Solution: Dell and Inovis create one of the largest private B2B cloud services in the world, supporting five million transactions a day across 1,900 partners in 30 countries. Inovis is able to quickly scale up or down services on demand. Transaction visibility, help desk integration and web portals improve transaction health. IT demand management SaaS applications govern requests from partner integration to IT groups.
Benefits: By consolidating three legacy systems into one global cloud platform, Dell was able to decommission more than 200 servers, 20 networks, 20 datacenter racks, 10 databases and 6 TB of storage. Partner onboarding times shrunk from months to days. Inovis standardizes on Dell PowerEdge servers in its data center, enabling a 15:1 server consolidation, 30% faster performance and $233K in savings.
