QRS and Selfridges Host Electronic Catalogue Conference for European Retail Suppliers

LONDON – October 01, 2002 – QRS Corporation (Nasdaq: QRSI), a leading provider of collaborative commerce solutions for the extended supply chain, today announced the QRS/Selfridges Global Data Synchronisation Conference to be held October 3, 2002, at the London Marriott, Grosvenor Square, in London, England. QRS and Selfridges, one of the top department store groups in Europe, will introduce an electronic commerce programme that will enable Selfridges' trading partners to automate business processes, increase revenues and decrease costs across their entire supply chain.

At this conference, retail suppliers will hear how global companies – such as Clarins, LVMH, Jones Apparel Group and Escada – have synchronised product and price information via a secure network with their North American retail trading partners using QRS Catalogue™, the global retail industry's largest database of product content. They will hear from Selfridges about its current programme to enhance collaboration with its suppliers using QRS Catalogue to improve item set-up and maintenance, simplify purchase order and invoice creation, and accelerate shipping and receiving processes. Attendees will also hear from Tim Mister, the European IT Partner for Kurt Salmon Europe, the leading retail consultancy, who will discuss the benefits of collaborative supply chains and data synchronisation from a global and strategic perspective.

"With product content becoming increasingly standardised in Europe, the timing could not be more perfect for retailers and their trading partners to take advantage of the benefits an electronic catalogue solution has to offer," said Shak Akhtar, QRS vice president of international sales and operations. "We are very pleased to be working with Selfridges and its distinguished trading community of suppliers, enabling them to streamline their supply chain and improve business performance through the use of QRS Catalogue."

QRS Catalogue is a centralised source of product information that is key to efficient and profitable business for both suppliers and retailers. It provides value across all categories of retail merchandise, including apparel, consumer packaged goods, hardlines and other general merchandise. Currently, more than 3,500 companies worldwide use QRS Catalogue to synchronise product information for more than 88 million UPCs/EANs to cut procurement-cycle times, better manage inventory and reduce product time to market.

With operations in Europe and North America, QRS provides professional services, trading partner enablement, community management and around-the-clock customer support in multiple languages through its QRS Global Services group.
