Inovis:Process Manager Delivers Web Services-Based Business Process Integration for B2B Environments

ATLANTA (January 8, 2003) — Inovis™, an enabler of B2B communities, today announced a new name for its Alliance Manager product, as well as an enhanced version, 4.7. Inovis:Process Manager, a three-time Crossroads A-List Award winner, delivers rapid automation of business processes, including the integration of applications using XML and Java standards. With the solution, companies can more easily integrate with trading partners and create business processes that extend beyond the enterprise. 

Inovis, comprised of former Harbinger and Extricity businesses, offers Business Process Management capabilities rooted in Extricity B2B technologies. Inovis:Process Manager strengthens the company’s position as a single-source provider of complete B2B enablement, with solutions spanning network access, data transformation/exchange, and business process integration and management. In addition, inovis:Process Manager provides the backbone that Inovis uses to extend it’s own business processes to its trading community.

Enhancements in the Web Services-enabled inovis:Process Manager version 4.7 include tighter integration with the inovis:Transformation family of products. This enhances the inclusion of real-time EDI into automated business processes or the addition of business process to existing EDI infrastructure. The release also provides scalability and performance improvements critical to large advanced business process based trading communities. 

Business analysts can use the inovis:Process Manager graphical design environment to define, create and manage complex business processes, without detailed programming knowledge. Automated process flows can span existing internal applications and external trading partners, allowing collaboration and operational efficiency. 

Inovis:Process Manager is currently in use at Amkor Technology, the world’s largest supplier of contract semiconductor assembly and test services. Amkor Technology served as a beta customer of version 4.7. The company manages customer order processes electronically, based on RosettaNet standard PIPs that are graphically modeled in inovis:Process Manager and available as pre-packaged components. Order lifecycle processes executed and managed within the solution range from initial purchase orders, changes and cancellations, to status updates and notification of shipments.
