VF Corporation Achieves Fast ROI with Inovis’ IPNet Solution

World’s Largest Apparel Company Uses EDI/INT Software to Meet AS2 Requirements and Reduce VAN Fees

ATLANTA, GA., August 19, 2003 — Inovis, a provider of business commerce automation solutions, today announced that VF Corporation, the world's largest apparel company, has chosen the IPNet BizManager 400 Internet EDI (EDI/NT) solution to meet the AS2 requirements of its retail partners. Having achieved significant ROI with the first generation eBizness Transact™ product, VF Corporation will migrate to BizManager 400 for its ability to deliver even greater ROI and functionality. The Internet-based EDI software provides VF Corporation with a secure and flexible system for automating the exchange of supply information with customers and partners.

“We achieved ROI within six months of implementing our IPNet software and have saved hundreds of thousands of dollars in VAN fees since,” said Barry Deaton, manager of EDI Systems for VF Services. “IPNet has enabled us to become much more efficient in meeting the AS2 requirements of retailers.”

IPNet BizManager™400 is a powerful trading partner connectivity solution. Built for the IBM iSeries (AS/400) platform, BizManager400 uses the Internet and industry standards architecture to enable an entire community of trading partners to exchange business data, providing a cost-effective alternative to value-added networks (VANs) and speeding the flow of information. IPNet BizManager 400, along with other IPNet products, became part of the Inovis product and service portfolio when Inovis acquired IPNet in July 2003.

“IPNet has played a leadership role in providing EDI/INT software solutions for the consumer goods manufacturing industry since 1997,” said Colleen Edwards, vice president of marketing for the Inovis business unit. “VF is just one of many leading consumer products manufacturers that have put their confidence in the BizManager product line because of its superior flexibility and broad interoperability. When companies need a solution to exchange data electronically with multiple trading partners using a variety of protocols, the IPNet brand is always at the top of the short list.”
