QRS Completes Communications Certification With UCCnet™
RICHMOND, CA/PRINCETON, N.J. – October 16, 2003 – QRS Corporation, a leading provider of collaborative commerce solutions for the retail industry, and UCCnet, a not-for-profit organization that provides product registry and data synchronization services, announced today that QRS, a preferred UCCnet Alliance partner, has completed communication certification of its QRS Catalogue™.
The UCCnet Alliance Partner program enables alliance partners to provide integrated collaborative commerce solutions to the expanding UCCnet community. The program certifies partners to provide best-in-class knowledge, resources and tools that enable UCCnet subscribers to implement product registry and data synchronization quickly, efficiently and cost-effectively.
"QRS has a long history of providing electronic services to the global retail trading community, and has consistently supported and led global standards initiatives," said Renee d'Ouville, Vice President, Product Strategy for QRS. "The manufacturers we serve sell to a broad range of retailers with diverse requirements – the end game is for QRS customers to use the UCCnet GLOBALregistry® services as an additional QRS service. We are committed to ensuring that our customers' product information is accessible to the global community."
QRS is certified for the UCCnet Communication Solution using the EDIINT AS2 protocol meaning QRS is able to exchange messages via an AS2 connection. This capability is the first step to becoming fully certified with UCCnet.
To alleviate costly errors, QRS enables product information synchronization between trading partners and UCCnet services enable registration and synchronization of product information, such as weight and dimensions, with a repository for standardized item, location and trading partner data. Suppliers load item, location and trading partner information into the UCCnet GLOBALregistry services. UCCnet services check the data for compliance to industry standards and synchronize it with demand-side partners ensuring that all trading partners are using identical, updated, standards-compliant data.
"This is an important milestone as QRS works to achieve additional certification that will provide a complete item catalogue accessible through the UCCnet GLOBALregistry services," continued QRS' d'Ouville. "We are very pleased to partner with UCCnet in its mission to provide a product registry for the industry."
