QRS Announces the Availability of QRS Web Forms™ 7.0
RICHMOND, CA – October 28, 2003 – QRS Corporation (Nasdaq: QRSI) announced today the general availability of QRS Web Forms™ 7.0, which includes several new features to help retailers and suppliers more efficiently manage retail trading partnerships. QRS Web Forms is an Internet-based application that streamlines the order to fulfillment process, facilitating the timely and accurate delivery of orders, shipments and invoices without the need for additional hardware, staff or training.
QRS Web Forms is designed to enable small and mid-sized vendors to transact electronically with retailers, and quickly and efficiently achieve 100% compliance with retailer requirements with minimal up-front investment. QRS Web Forms is used by more than 1,500 small to mid-sized vendors in the retail trading community to facilitate timely delivery of orders, shipments and invoices to the right place.
This latest version adds email notification service and advanced support for organizational hierarchy, as well as back-end enhancements, to improve operational efficiencies, ease of use and workflow response times across the retail supply chain.
"We were up and running on QRS Web Forms in four days, and have achieved significant savings over the last two years by automating our processes," says Ronit Levy, EDI controller, at Novelty Plus, Inc. in New York. "QRS Web Forms enables us to meet our retailers' requirements, so we can expand our footprint, and this new version should further enhance collaboration with our retailers."
Key enhancements include:
- Email Notification: QRS Web Forms can now notify suppliers via email whenever new inbound documents arrive, such as purchase orders (POs) and PO changes. This proactive notification helps ensure that a supplier is able to respond immediately to purchase orders.
- Updated Manufacturer ID Field: To help trading partners comply with UCC's latest retail requirements, the QRS Web Forms manufacturer ID field can now hold up to 10 digits. The Manufacturer ID (also called UCC Block ID) and Sequence Number are components used to identify the UCC-128 carton for the shipping labels and on the advanced ship notice (ASN). This ensures accuracy of the information sent from a suppliers' QRS Web Forms system.
"Vendors and suppliers are under increasing pressure to reach compliance with retail industry requirements, and do to so, they need a way to be able to communicate and transact efficiently," says QRS Vice President of Product Strategy Renee d'Ouville. "With this release, we've drawn from customer feedback to improve QRS Web Forms functionality and facilitate an even more fluid transaction process for the global retail community."
