Sephora Streamlines Supply Chain Management with Inovis
Global Beauty Retailer Chooses Inovis as Primary Electronic Commerce Provider
ATLANTA, GA — May 17, 2006 — Inovis today announced that global beauty retailer, Sephora, has selected Inovis as its primary electronic commerce provider. A longtime Inovis customer, Sephora will leverage Inovis' comprehensive suite of Managed Services to optimize business communications with its extensive trading community, while continuing to use Inovis Catalogue™ for data synchronization.
Sephora opted for a consolidated Inovis solution based on the strength of the company's fully-integrated product portfolio and customer service. Inovis' Managed Services is a hosted solution that combines hosted technology, professional services, transaction and partner management, new product development, service-level protection and scalability. As part of the hosted service, Inovis also manages Sephora's electronic data interchange (EDI) program for 180 suppliers, with whom the company securely exchanges business-critical information, regardless of disparate data, processes, or network and connectivity standards.
"With more than 250 brands carried in 515 stores worldwide and 119 stores across North America, we value seamless communication and strong relationships with our vendors," said Janet Hanson, chief information officer of Sephora. "By entrusting our EDI program to Inovis, we are able to free up internal resources, reduce cost, and gain flexibility and speed in on-boarding new trading partners, while remaining focused on delivering a broad range of products to our clientele."
Inovis handles all day-to-day support and technical aspects of on-boarding new EDI partners for Sephora, resulting in a simplified, accelerated and automated process. Over the next 12–18 months, Sephora plans to increase the number of suppliers in the EDI program to 250. Sephora's EDI communications are conducted via Inovisworks, Inovis' next-generation, best-in-class value-added network (VAN). Built on the industry's only J2EE platform, Inovisworks provides optimal flexibility while reducing total cost of ownership for network participants.
In addition, Sephora will continue to use Inovis Catalogue to synchronize product data for the 250 classic and emerging brands carried in its stores. Containing more than 100 million unique items, Inovis Catalogue is the retail industry's leading centralized repository of product information. By improving data integrity with Inovis Catalogue, Sephora is able to accelerate product catalogue setup and effectively reduce time-to-market.
"Global retailers such as Sephora are faced with an ever-increasing volume of data that must be exchanged among a vast network of trading partners with diverse business and technical requirements," said Jeff Schroeder, senior vice president of marketing for Inovis. "With proven retail industry expertise, a comprehensive product suite and exceptional customer support, Inovis is positioned to address these complex supply chain management needs and support customers' future growth."
