Jarden Consumer Solutions Extends Relationship with Inovis to Support Corporate Growth
Inovis Portfolio Enables Jarden Consumer Solutions Trading Community to Grow Five-Fold in Two Years
ATLANTA, GA - February 26, 2007 — Jarden Consumer Solutions (JCS), a leading consumer products company, today announced an extension of its longstanding relationship with Inovis, a leading provider of supply chain communication solutions. JCS, which manufactures and markets consumer products under such brands Crock-Pot®, Mr. Coffee®, Oster®, Rival®, and Sunbeam®, has extended its contract with Inovis for Inovisworks™, the company’s value-added network (VAN), to exchange mission-critical business documents for 10,000 individual SKUs with nearly 1,000 trading partners.
For years, Jarden Consumer Solutions has managed the large majority of its orders via EDI and is standardizing most of its e-commerce activity on the Inovisworks VAN. Because of the strategic nature of its e-commerce activity, Jarden required a supply chain communication partner that is actively investing in advancing its VAN platform while developing innovative solutions and services that can enhance the value these networks have delivered for years. Over the past three years, JCS has relied on a number of products and solutions from the Inovis portfolio including the Inovisworks VAN, multiple software solutions, such as BizConnect, BizManager400 and TrustedLink iSeries, as well as the company’s data synchronization platform, Inovis Catalogue. The company will continue to use the integrated Inovis portfolio to fuel its growth strategy by accommodating further acquisition and credits much of its recent integration success to the Inovisworks VAN.
In the last two years, Jarden Consumer Solutions has grown its trading community organically and through acquisition from 200 partners to nearly 1,000. Every company acquired along with associated products, trading volumes and connections with various trading partners have been seamlessly migrated to Inovisworks, demonstrating the versatility and scale of the state-of-the-art platform. To budget for growth in a highly seasonal business, JCS takes advantage of Inovisworks’ billing structure, which is based on the number of trading partners rather than trading volume. The combined suite of Inovis solutions has enabled the company to maintain low prices and fast order turn-around while simultaneously rapidly expanding its trading community with Inovis’ solutions as its standard for supply chain communication.
"Inovis has eliminated our growing pains and enabled us to acquire brands and seamlessly integrate them into our trading community. What really makes this partner relationship so valuable to us is their keen dedication and unsurpassed network reliability, quality and innovation," said Randy Sinclair, Director of IT Electronic Commerce at Jarden Consumer Solutions. "Because of their proven history and our confidence in the company and their solutions, we built our corporate disaster response plan on the Inovis EDI network to expand upon the successes the company has already helped us achieve."
"Inovis continues to innovate and invest in Inovisworks as the cornerstone of our supply chain communication suite," said Inovis President and CEO Sean Feeney. "Our top priority is delivering expert solutions to companies like Jarden Consumer Solutions to standardize, synchronize and streamline communication across trading communities to achieve business results that are both strategic and fundamentally sound."
The Inovisworks VAN allows suppliers and retailers to exchange mission-critical business documents regardless of data format or network connectivity standards, securely routing millions of business transactions between thousands of companies on a daily basis.
TrustedLink iSeries converts internal application data formats to and from EDI formats and executes the commands for translation processing between business partners. BizManager data transformation services accelerate supply chain communications with any-to-any connectivity, quick and easy mapping and flexible data conversion and transformation control numbers at interchange and group levels within a party. The solution also can be scaled to more than ten million transformations per day, offers advanced control over password configuration, transaction management, archiving and reporting, activity management, management by exception and alerting notifications.
In addition, Jarden Consumer Solutions uses Inovis’ data synchronization platform, the Inovis Catalogue, to synchronize and standardize accurate product data for its thousands of products with the retailers it supplies. Inovis Catalogue is the retail industry’s leading centralized repository of product information, containing more than 100 million unique items.
