Leading Industry Analyst Firm Evaluates Inovis as Provider of Multienterprise/B2B Infrastructure Solutions
ATLANTA, GA - June 4, 2007 — Inovis, a leading provider of supply chain communication solutions, has been analyzed by Gartner, Inc. as one of the firms that offers multienterprise, or B2B (business-to-business) infrastructure solutions that cover the entire market. Inovis was listed as a provider in each of the newly defined key market areas.
The research report, "Taxonomy and Definitions for the Multienterprise/B2B Infrastructure Market," published April 9, 2007, and authored by Benoit J. Lheureux, et al., analyzes the evolving B2B infrastructure industry, which is used to exchange data and link business processes between a company's internal applications and systems and those of its external business partner. The report defines the market as having five categories, and then identifies vendors with a position in each category.
"Because companies move vast amounts and types of data inside and outside their firewalls, secure transport and management of that data cannot be achieved through just one of these market categories or through a one size fits all approach," said Sean Feeney, Inovis President and CEO. "The increasingly complex needs of our business partners call for the right collaboration of software, services, protocols and business process expertise to enable seamless data exchange between businesses. Inovis is excited to fit companies with such tailored, flexible solutions."
The five categories defined by Gartner are:
Multienterprise/B2B gateway software.
Managed file transfer (MFT) suite software.
Stand-alone electronic data interchange (EDI) translator software.
Integration as a service (IaaS).
B2B project outsourcing.
Gartner recommends that midsize-large companies double the number of their company's B2B projects and spend 50 percent more on B2B by the year 2011. As B2B projects increase, Gartner recommends that companies shift their emphasis from point solutions to B2B service providers or gateway software that supports strong trading partner management, a variety of B2B approaches, and bundled auditing and process visibility capabilities. And when implementing B2B infrastructure, companies should choose software, services or a combination of both, while they can continue to leverage such point solutions as EDI translators and managed file transfer when they are cost-effective, offer a return on investment, and meet existing B2B strategies.
Inovis believes it is already poised to meet these needs and is currently providing 20,000-plus companies with a powerful portfolio of solutions.
